1:30 this skatepark is called Brian Aragon Skatepark, its located in Brighton CO. There is a plaque there in memory of a kid I knew in highschool named Ian, he lost his kife due to an accident in the woods with a firearm, rest in peace Ian 🙏 ✝️

Love to see all those local Denver spots… wish I would have stayed in the rollerblading scene back when I was good at it, but when you’re 12yrs old in middle school and everyone starts calling you a “fruit booter” it made life a little easier just to switch to skateboarding until I was ready to come out. I’m 35 now and openly gay… I recently got a pair of blades to try and get back into the sport, but it’s not as easy as it once was 23yrs ago. Much love to the CO legend Brian Aragon. 🫶

This sport is a lot more unforgiving than skateboarding. I see why the youth gravitate toward skateboarding which is less intimidating. Both great sports nonetheless.

Best I had growing up, outside of paid skate parks I had to beg my parents for rides to, was bicycle racks (flipped onto their sides) and whatever cement edges were smooth enough. Just getting back into skating at 37 after about 23 years... Perk of being an adult, I can build my own skate boxes and stuff in my garage. Un-perk I'm older, fatter, taller, and less coordinated. Pray for me, guys, because I'm def going to get banged up lol.

I never understood why us skateboarders always gave bladers such hate, i always respected anyone who had passion on wheels, weather it be skateboarding, blading,bmx, scooter...etc. theyre all forms of athletic art and i think deep down we all can appreciate what we all can make happen on them wheels.
